The Alachua County School Concurrency Project (ACSCP) was formed in May 2003 with the goal of implementing school concurrency in our county as an effective way to prevent overcrowded schools.
Now that school concurrency is mandatory statewide, our goal is to provide everyone in Florida with accurate, useful and timely information about school
concurrency.

Rebmann's report School Concurrency for Alachua County in Microsoft Word. Click here for an Adobe Acrobat version of the report.

Talbot Elementary's enrollment is currently at 148% of its core capacity which means, among other things, that the cafeteria must start serving lunch at 10 am. This illustrates a common problem in Florida of adding new classrooms to existing schools without increasing the capacity of core facilities like cafeterias.

Student generation multipliers are used to calculate the number of students that will come from new residential developments. Click here to see the proposed multipliers for Alachua County. For comparison, click here to see the report on student generation multipliers from Palm Beach County's pioneering school concurrency system.
The Alachua County staff working group has issued a whitepaper with its analysis of and recommendations for Alachua County's school concurrency system. Its summary and recommendations are on the last three pages of the report. Click here to see the whitepaper. Click here to see a presentation on the highlights of the whitepaper including the main recommendations as well as recommended sites for new schools. Both files require the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
